Windows Phone’s is the 3rd most used OS in the world. Microsoft has been working hard to make it to the top and partnership with Nokia is an example of that. For now, Windows Phone 8 is the most fluent OS but has its limitations. Currently, WP8 only supports at max dual-core processors and no more than 720p displays. Although, planned WP8 GDR3 update will add support for quad-core processors and 1080p displays. Rumors are that, GDR3 update is what Lenovo Windows Phone is waiting for.
Lenovo is said to be working on a Windows Phone device with quad-core processor and a 1080p display. The device is expected to compete with the leaked Oppo Windows Phone. Lenovo Windows Phone is expected to be called either Lenovo Snoopy or Lenovo Aupres. The device is might have a 4.7″ or a 5″ Full HD display. The price of the device is expected to be around $488 or less.
As Oppo and Lenovo plan to step in, looks like Microsoft will finally have some powerful, quad-core phablets by the end of 2013. Lenovo is one of the largest smartphone sellers in China. The combination of Microsoft and Lenovo might seek a significant boost in market share for both. As Windows Phone is comparatively new in the smartphone market, Lenovo Windows Phone could be the break it needed. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments section below.
