Samsung has just announced its flagship devices for 2015, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Interestingly, this time Samsung has ditched there old plastic build for a more premium metallic unibody design.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge both have Gorilla Glass 4 glass panels on the front and rear. Sides of the new Samsung flagship devices have metallic borders. Galaxy S6 is significantly different than its predecessors S5 or S4 since they both look pretty much alike. It might resemble the Galaxy Alpha a bit but Samsung has really improved the design. While S6 and S6 Edge might look alike at first glance, there are some prominent differences. S6 Edge has it’s display curved on both the sides. This is mostly to help in swiping because unlike the Note Edge, S6 Edge doesn’t have special apps to run on the edges.
Under the hood, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are pretty much identical. Like all the previous Samsung flagships, they also feature top-notch processors. In this case, its the Samsung Exynos 7420 Octa-core processor. They will both have a 3 GB RAM with 32/64/128 GB storage options to choose from. Both have the improved 16MP primary shooter on the back. Samsung claims it to be faster and even easier to use than before. As one would expect, both Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge would come with Android Lollipop installed. One minor difference though is that Galaxy S6 is powered by a 2550 mAh Li-Ion battery while S6 Edge has a 2600 mAh Li-Ion battery.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge would go on sale starting on 10th April. There’s no word on the pricing yet but both the devices would be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum. They would also be available in exclusive Blue Topaz for Galaxy S6 and Green Emerald for S6 Edge.
