Last night at the launch event held in Lahore, we got a chance to get our hands on the new Huawei P8 and P8 lite handsets. Huawei P8 is the successor to the P7 and a high-end flagship smartphone. On the other hand, Huawei P8 lite is a more affordable version of the flagship with lower specs. Both of the devices have metallic bodies, similar build aesthetics and their build quality is (no doubt) commendable.
Huawei P8 is a new flagship device from the Chinese manufacturer. Even though its quite thin having a thickness of 6.4mm only, still the handset feels completely sturdy due to it’s metallic body and 144g of weight. Build quality of the device is remarkable and exactly what one expects from a flagship.
It is an almost bezel-less device with no hardware buttons on the front. Near the front top of the device is the speaker grill, light sensor and a proximity sensor. You’ll also find a 8MP camera on the front of the device. Left side is all clear while the right side has the volume rocker, power button and dual-SIM slots, one of which can be used as a microSD slot as well. A micro-USB port is located at the bottom of the device and the 3.5mm jack at the top. Backside of the device is covered with the regular branding stuff and also hosts the 13MP camera with a dual-LED flash and OIS.
It is available in four colors: Titanium Grey, Mystic Champagne, Carbon Black, Prestige Gold and sets your back by 49,999/- PKR (~500 USD).
Huawei P8 lite
Huawei P8 lite is a more reasonably priced, mid-range Android phone. Although it has similar build aesthetics and build quality but it’s a tad bit thicker at 7.7mm. Also, the dimensions of both the devices are almost same but Huawei P8 lite has a little smaller 5.0″ display. Not to forget, P8 lite is also 13 grams lighter weighing at 131g.
It is available in three colors: Black, White, Gold and is priced at 25,799/- PKR (~260 USD).
